The index in the anatomy tool is used to create virtual prosections in the 3D anatomy panel.

Anatomical structures are sorted alphabetically and can be shown, hidden, highlighted or unhighlighted.

You can find structures in the list or search for them by clicking the magnifying glass.

The index is active by default when you open the anatomy tool.
