Overview

The anatomy tool is located on the toolbar and is used for finding anatomical structures and creating virtual prosections.

Click the anatomy tool once to open the menu. To close the menu, click the anatomy tool again or click anywhere outside of the menu.

The anatomy tool can show, hide, or highlight anatomical structures.

Anatomical structures are organized hierarchically and are sorted alphabetically, regionally, or systemically.

These are the buttons from left to right at the top of the anatomy tool menu:

Show All (eyeball)
Used to show all anatomical structures in the 3D anatomy panel.

Hide All (eyeball with slash)
Used to hide all anatomical structures in the 3D anatomy panel.

Highlight (rainbow)
Used to change the active highlight color.

Male Dataset (male symbol)
Used to load male dataset.

Female Dataset (female symbol)
Used to load female dataset.

Search (magnifying glass)
Used to search for anatomical structures in the index.

Along the left of the anatomy tool menu are the following sections:

  • Index
  • Regions
  • Systems

The active section will appear blue.

The following symbols are next to anatomical structures within the anatomy tool menu:

Show (eyeball)
Used to show anatomical structures in the 3D anatomy panel.

Highlight (sun)
Used to highlight anatomical structures in the cross-section and 3D anatomy panels.

The show and highlight buttons have three states:

  • Active (bright blue)
  • Partially active (dark blue)
  • Inactive (grey)

Arrows next to anatomical structures in the regions and systems sections indicate a nested hierarchy, or a parent-child relationship. A partially active (dark blue) state means that a child structure is shown or highlighted while the rest of the region or system may not be.
