The dissect tool is used to identify and dissect (remove) structures from the 3D anatomy.

Hover the cursor over an anatomical structure to reveal the structure identification at the top of the cross-section or 3D anatomy panels, or click once on an anatomical structure to dissect it.
The dissect tool can also be used to add anatomical structures to your virtual prosection by clicking on the structure in the cross-section panel.

Press D on your keyboard to activate the dissect tool.
When the dissect tool is active, press and hold Shift on your keyboard to switch to the highlight tool.
